to the end of a finger pier no longer has to be anexercise in balance coordination! The rigid connections most commonly used with a truss system make the entire dock system react as one unit. Weight on one side of the dock gets transfered to the other side. The resultant is a very solid, stable walking surface. More exposed locations will requirean articulated design that allowsthe system to move with the water. This design retains it's torsional resistance while allowing more independent vertical movement.
